Pollyanna Bell, the third generation of our family bakery is on a week’s work experience in our New Product Development Kitchen. At the age of 16, she is hanging up her netball trainers and putting her A-Level books down for her half-break to better her skills in baking.
Learning from one of our baking experts, Jez who has been in the Food Industry for 34 years, having worked in hotels, spent 12 years as a Patisserie chef and even owned his own restaurant – she is in safe hands!
Bringing a fresh set of eyes and full of ideas, Polly has been baking lots of different products and learning key skills in frosting, piping and marbling. The highlight of her week so far is creating her showstopper just in time for the Great British Bake-off final…a chocolate cake filled and topped with salted caramel frosting and raspberry jam, finished with nibbed walnuts, brownie chunks, freeze dried raspberries and edible golden walnuts. You’ve got our taste buds tempted Polly!
